Meet Claire Thompson; Junior Developer & Client Support

Claire left her teaching days behind to pursue a career in web development. Determined to soak up and learn as much as she can, Claire is often found behind her computer screen, coding, problem solving, and debugging with a cat in her lap. 🐈

Q: Where did you work before this, what experience do you have from there?

A: Prior to Linchpin, I was a high school English teacher at a small private school.

Q: What is your career focus?

A: Learning and becoming the best developer I possibly can.

Q: What do you believe your best strength is within the company?

A: Resourcefulness.

Q: How would you describe yourself with three words?

A: Caring, creative, and quirky.

Q: How would your friends describe you?

A: The loudest person in the room.

Q: What is currently your computer background?

A: A watercolor painting of a terrarium.

Q: If money didn’t matter, what would you do all day?

A: Create! I always want more time to devote to making art, writing, etc.

Q: What is your biggest pet peeve?

A: People who don’t use their turn signal.

Q: What makes you bored?

A: Sports. I truly have less than no interest in athletics.

Q: Tell me about something you would happily do again.

A: Traveling to Spain! It was easily the most beautiful trip I’ve taken and the food was incredible. I also learned a lot about winemaking 🍷 and got to pet a LOT of Spanish cats. 😸

Q: What are your three most overused words or phrases?

A: “Does that make sense?” “Okay, but consider this…” “Look at this cat! Have you SEEN this cat?!”

Q: What are two things you have with you at all times?

A: Lipstick and bobby pins.

Q: How would you define success?

A: Having both intellectual fulfillment and financial security.

Q: What advice would you give to your 18 year old self?

A: Calm down. It really will all work out in the end.

Q: What is the first thing on your bucket list?

A: More travel! I’d love to see every continent.

Q: Favorite activities on your day off?

A: Watching reality competition shows, crafting, dance, and just generally hanging with my cats.

Q: What is one thing you can’t live without?

A: Coffee. ☕️

Q: What does true leadership mean to you?

A: Humility, forgiveness, and honest communication.
